“The music is good” 只是一个标签,“The music speaks when Oren cannot” 才是观点,再用一个场景证明它。
读者无法核对 “amazing”,却可以核对 “the harbour is painted in only three shades of blue”。
用 because、since 或 as 解释为什么这个观点合理。
先从关于虚构电影 The Lantern Keeper 的一个弱句子开始:“The music is good.”
“The music is the film’s strongest feature.”
第二步,理由: “…because it speaks when Oren cannot.”
When the girl asks about the ships, a single piano note repeats softly while Oren says nothing.”
That silence feels heavier than any speech would.”
The music is the film’s strongest feature because it speaks when Oren cannot. When the girl asks about the ships, a single piano note repeats softly while Oren says nothing. That silence feels heavier than any speech would.
Weak: The film was really amazing and very good. Everyone should like it because it is good.
The harbour scenes are the most memorable part of the film because the artist uses only three shades of blue, which makes the water feel calm even during a storm.”

The Corner Kettle café was nice.”

例如:“The Corner Kettle is a warm place to study because the owner keeps the lights low and the tables large, so nobody minds when you spread out your notes for two hours.”
3. 哪个看法更有依据?(a) “The villain is bad because he is bad.” (b) “The harbour master is a weak villain because he only complains about the noise and never threatens anyone.”

English as a Second Language
