The cost of IGCSE tuition depends on the format, the subject, the teacher and the schedule, so the number only means something when you know what it covers. For our service, the paid one-hour trial starts from RM80 at the assigned teacher’s confirmed rate, and ongoing lessons continue at the same rate.
This page lists what shapes the cost and shows how to compare quotes like for like. Advertised prices are hard to verify, so compare each confirmed rate against what it covers.
What decides the price?
Several things move a tuition price. Knowing them helps you ask better questions.
| Factor | What it changes | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Group, one-to-one, online, home or centre | How many students are in the lesson? Where does it take place? |
| Subject and syllabus code | Some subjects need more specialised teaching | Which exact syllabus code does the teacher teach? |
| Teacher experience | Rate may reflect background and demand | What is the teacher’s experience with this syllabus? |
| Lesson length and frequency | Total monthly spend | How long is each lesson and how often do lessons run? |
| Level and goal | Intensive exam preparation can differ from gap repair | What is the aim for the next few weeks? |
| What is included | Materials, marking, messages between lessons | What is included in the rate and what is extra? |
What does our service cost?
Our service is online one-to-one Cambridge IGCSE tuition anywhere in Malaysia, with an experienced teacher assigned to the student. The paid one-hour trial starts from RM80, at the assigned teacher’s confirmed rate. The rate is confirmed before the lesson.
After the trial, lessons continue at the same rate, and the schedule and support are arranged between student and teacher. The page from RM80, explained shows what the starting figure means, and confirming the trial rate shows how to check it.
How do you compare quotes like for like?
Put each quote in a table with the same rows. Otherwise a low number can hide a different product.
- Subject and syllabus code. Use the exact code, see subject code before price comparison.
- Format. One-to-one or group, and how many in a group.
- Lesson length. Compare per hour, not per session.
- What the rate covers. Materials, practice marking, between-lesson messages.
- How the fee is paid. Per lesson or in advance, and what happens if a lesson is missed.
If a provider cannot answer these, the quote is incomplete.
How should you budget?
Start with the goal and the time left. A student with three months to the exam and one weak topic needs a different plan from a student starting a two-year course.
Leave space for the exam budget as well. Tuition and exam fees are separate, see the private-candidate cost structure if your child is sitting as a private candidate. For lower-cost options, read when self-study can be enough and short topic help versus ongoing study.
What does the trial tell you about cost?
The trial shows you the rate, the teacher’s way of working and whether the student understood something new by the end of the hour. That tells you more than a brochure price.
Afterwards you can continue, change the focus or stop. After the trial shows how that conversation usually goes, and IGCSE tuition explained covers what to expect.
If you already know which subject is costing your child marks, send us a WhatsApp message. We assign a teacher and confirm the rate before the paid trial, so you see the real figure first.
