Students in Sabah can have online one-to-one Cambridge IGCSE tuition without leaving their town. A teacher is assigned to your child and lessons run over video.
Sabah is the second-largest state in Malaysia by area. Travel between districts can take hours, so a class within easy reach is not realistic for everyone. Online lessons change that, provided the connection holds.
Which districts and towns do we serve?
Students join from every district, including Tawau, Lahad Datu, Semporna, Sandakan, Kinabatangan and Beluran. Others include Kota Kinabalu, Ranau, Kota Belud, Tuaran, Penampang, Papar, Kudat and Kota Marudu. More are Pitas, Beaufort, Kuala Penyu, Sipitang, Tenom, Nabawan, Keningau, Tambunan, Kunak, Tongod, Putatan, Telupid and Kalabakan.
The towns families ask about most are Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Keningau, Semporna, Kota Belud, Tuaran, Beaufort, Papar, Ranau and Kudat.
What should I check about connectivity in Sabah?
Connection quality differs a great deal between districts, and between town centres and outlying kampung. A town line may suit a video lesson where a village line does not.
Before you commit, run the online-lesson readiness check on the exact device, in the exact room, at the exact hour you plan to study. Keep a mobile data hotspot as a second route, and tell your teacher if the signal dips at certain times so lessons can move to a steadier hour.
If the picture freezes, agree in advance that you will switch to audio and keep writing. A lesson on paper still works with a weak video signal.
What if my school and my teacher are far apart?
It does not matter where your teacher is. Students in Kudat, Tawau and Keningau can all be assigned an experienced teacher for the same subject. What matters is fit with your timetable.
Bring your school hours, transport times and any co-curricular commitments to the trial. Plan for travel days too, since a long journey home can leave little energy for an evening lesson.
Which subjects are harder to find locally?
In smaller towns, subjects such as Additional Mathematics, Computer Science, French or a particular science combination may have few options nearby. Online, you can ask for the subject you actually need, and a teacher is assigned for it.
Each subject page below explains how the lessons work.

What should I ask my exam centre?
Registration, entry, results and access arrangements belong to your school or centre and to Cambridge. The distance to a centre can be long in Sabah, so ask yours early:
- Where will I sit each paper, and how far is it from where I live?
- If I am a private candidate, which centre accepts me and by what deadline?
- Are practical or speaking components held on a different day or at another venue?
Knowing the venue in advance lets you plan travel and accommodation. The private-candidate readiness checklist collects these questions, and our exam guidance explains who is responsible for each step.
How do I start from Sabah?
Use the enquiry button on this page to message us on WhatsApp with your subject, year and town. We assign a teacher and confirm the rate for the paid one-hour trial, which starts from RM80.
Ongoing lessons continue at the same rate, and the schedule is agreed with the teacher after the trial. 9,000+ students have been helped through our service. See how the lessons work for the steps, or our Malaysia page for every state.
